BREAKING NEWS: What’s happening in Yerevan?

BREAKING NEWS. What’s happening in Yerevan: the city breathes in tension, and people in anticipation

Yerevan, which usually lives at its lively rhythm, has suddenly changed. There is still movement on the streets, people are still rushing about their business, but something has changed invisibly in the air. It is felt in the looks, in the silence between words, in the constant ringing of phones.

It all started unexpectedly. At first, only whispers. “Have you heard what’s happening…”, “They say this is just the beginning…” No one wanted to believe that the situation could change so quickly. But after a few hours, those whispers turned into anxiety, and anxiety into real fear.

— “Did you leave the house?” — a woman was asking excitedly on the phone.

— “No… something doesn’t seem right,” — the other answered, keeping her voice low.

Unusual movements began to be observed in different parts of the city. People stopped, looked at each other, as if trying to understand whether it was just their imagination or if something was really happening. There was silence in transport. Even the drivers spoke less.

The worst thing was the uncertainty. No one gave clear answers. No one said what was really happening. And when there is no information, the imagination starts to work. And that is exactly what is most dangerous.

A young man, standing in the center of the city, tried to calm his girlfriend.

— “Listen, everything will be fine, it’s just that people talk too much.”

— “But what if it’s not true… what if something really exists?” — his voice trembled.

And that was the question hanging in the air, “what if.”

In some parts of the city, people began to rush home. Some to the shops to buy the necessary things. Others simply stood and watched their surroundings, trying to understand the situation. No one wanted to be the first to admit, “I’m scared.” But that fear was already inside.

The situation on social media was getting even more tense. Different information, contradictory rumors, unconfirmed data. Each new post caused more tension than the previous one. People began to argue, prove, doubt.

An elderly man was sitting in the yard, silently watching the people passing by.

— “I’ve seen a lot in life,” he said quietly. — “But this kind of silence… this is different.”

Yerevan seemed to have stopped in a moment where there was no past, no future, only the present, which was full of uncertainty. Time had slowed down. Every minute seemed longer than usual.

And at that very moment, when the tension had reached its peak, the first clarifications began to appear. But even they could not completely calm people down. Because once trust is broken, it is difficult to restore.

— “So this is all?” — one asked.
— “Maybe… but something still won’t let you rest,” — the other answered.

Yerevan is still breathing. But now, more heavily, more cautiously. People have learned to live with change, but this time something was different. Something that has not yet been expressed in words, but has already left its mark.

And the biggest question remains unanswered: was this the end… or just the beginning?
